EFCC Declares Yahaya Bello Wanted

Bello and EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has declared Ex-Gov Yahaya Bello wanted for refusal to appear before the anti-graft agency to answer money laundering case.

As reported previously by Felix Omoko Blog, the erstwhile governor, Yahaya Bello has reportedly been whisked away by his successor, Gov Usman Ododo after denying the agency to arrest him.

Yahaya Bello, while serving as the executive governor of Kogi state has misappropriated the lump sum of over N80 billion during his 8 years in office.

Gov. Ododo used his immunity to prevent the anti-graft agency from arresting Bello, which EFCC found offensive and the consequences are enormous, in line with the provision of the enabling law establishing the commission.
