Sonia Ekweremadu, the daughter of former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, on Friday said she disagreed with her parents' conviction, describing the UK court ruling sentencing them to various jail terms as surprising. Former Nigerian Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, his wife Beatrice, and Doctor Obinna Obeta have been sentenced to jail by a judge at The Central Criminal Court, also known as the Old Bailey. 

Senator Ike Ekweremadu and co-defendant Obinna Obeta trial will begin January 31 as both will spend the Christmas and New Year Celebration in prison as their bail application failed.
